Next week my kids go back to school. Their other mom is a school teacher, so they have been home with her all summer doing pretty much nothing but swimming, watching TV, and playing video games. Their mother apparently spent her summer vacation scheduling all of their "yearly" appointments for when she returned to work. Therefore, I have been a stay at home mom for at least the last week and a half, toting my children from one appointment to another. I don't want to be a stay at home mom. Unless, of course, a stay at home mom actually got to stay home. NEWSFLASH - A STAY AT HOME MOM DOES NOT GET TO STAY HOME! If you're lucky, you may have a one or two hour interval with nothing scheduled so you can stay at home, but I have found that this is rare.
This past Monday, we had to be at the ENT at 10:55am and the Pediatrician at 2:40pm. The rare occasion where we had a couple of hours to actually stay at home. Both of my children spent an hour and a half of this time sleeping and the other 30 minutes spreading parts of the Wii all over the house as if they were planning a "Parts of the Wii Hunt" later in the day. If I was a real stay at home mom, I'd make them "Parts of the Wii Hunt" baskets. Maybe then the parts would get picked up.
